Here's
a quick project to create a treat bag for the kids to use when they go trick
or treating at Halloween. Change the material and it makes a cute gift bag
for presents. This project is quick and easy to do; plus, it's a great way
to use up any scrap fabric you have.
Supplies Needed:
Cut the fabric to the specified size and iron out any wrinkles. Then place the material wrong side up. Lay the tassel down on the top edge (choose one of the sides that is 11" wide). Fold the fabric over the tassel, about one inch. Sew it in place, using a honeycomb stitch. The honeycomb stitch will provide extra strength along the seam, so that it won't rip or tear easily.
Next, do the same for the other side. Place the tassel along the top (wrong side up) and fold the fabric over one inch. Use the honeycomb stitch to sew it in place. Once the tassel has been sewn in place, sew the sides together, making sure that the right side of the fabric is facing in.
Finally, turn the Halloween treat bag inside out and you're finished. Your kids will now have a one of a kind treat bag for when they go trick or treating. Happy Halloween!
