Snowflakes For Christmas Card Idea

Snowflakes For Christmas Card IdeaWhat says Christmas better than a bunch of snowflakes?  Snowflakes bring back wonderful childhood memories of trying to catch snowflakes on your tongue or even on your hands to see all the different shapes and sizes that they came in.

This card uses a paint splatter technique to capture that feeling of watching snowflakes falling.

Step One:  Create the background by splattering paint on the card.  It's easy.  All you need is either watercolour or acrylic paint and a paintbrush or an old toothbrush that you never plan to use again.  Then, simply dip the brush in the paint and run your fingertip over the brush to splatter the paint on the card.  the faster and harder you run your fingertip over the brush, the bigger the dots or specs of paint will be.

Step Two:  Allow the paint to dry and then seal the colours with a fixative.  The fixative will help preserve and protect the colour.

Step Three:  Once the fixative has dried, add alphabet stickers to spell out the words "Merry Christmas" or any other greeting that you wish to put on the front of the card.  Then add snowflake stickers or embellishments to finish the snowflake theme.

Step Four:  Punch two holes in the side of the card.  Insert a ribbon and tie it into a bow on the outside of the card.  This will reinforce the Christmas theme of the card because the ribbon will make it feel like a gift that has been wrapped with ribbon and bows on it.
